There is no neat answer to the cost of UAE e-invoicing. A small consultancy may spend very little. A trading company running Tally across several branches may need integration work. A large group with SAP, custom billing, and thousands of invoices a day can turn the same compliance requirement into a serious IT project.
The timing makes the question more pressing.
- The UAE e-invoicing pilot phase and voluntary implementation already began on 1 July 2026.
- Businesses with annual revenue of AED 50 million or more must appoint an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) by 30 October 2026 and implement e-invoicing by 1 January 2027.
- Businesses below AED 50 million must appoint an ASP by 31 March 2027 and go live by 1 July 2027.
So, simple small-business setups can cost a few hundred dirhams per month. Mid-sized businesses may spend AED 1,000-5,000 per month, plus implementation. Enterprise projects are generally custom-priced and can run much higher once ERP integration, testing, multiple entities, and support are included. These are market budgeting ranges, not government tariffs.
What Is E-Invoicing Software?
E-invoicing software creates, validates, exchanges, and tracks structured invoice data rather than merely producing a PDF. In the UAE, invoice information is exchanged through an Accredited Service Provider using the Peppol framework and the UAE PINT-AE specification, with relevant tax data reported electronically to the Federal Tax Authority. In practical terms, e-invoicing sits between accounting, VAT compliance, and invoice exchange rather than being another invoice-printing feature.
Key Factors That Affect E-Invoicing Software Cost
Business Size and Invoice Volume
Headcount is not always the best predictor of cost. A 20-person wholesaler issuing 20,000 invoices a month can need a heavier setup than a 200-person consultancy issuing 500. Providers may charge by annual documents, monthly bands, or transactions.
ERP and Accounting Integration
This is where quotations often move. Connecting a straightforward cloud accounting package may be relatively simple. Connecting Tally, Zoho Books, Odoo, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or an internally developed billing system can require field mapping, APIs, middleware, master-data cleanup, and testing.
